From Tom McCrackin: This is a WONDERFUL series, entertaining and instructive for all levels of players. All of Mollo's characters (the Hideous Hog, Rueful Rabbit, Secretary Bird, Mollie the Mule, and many others) come to life at the table, doing their best (or worst) to maintain an orderly universe. The Rabbit is the bane of the Hog's existence, munching on chocolate almond biscuits, fretting about the color of the cards and guided through the play of the most incredibly difficult hands by his Guardian Angel. Unfortunately, his GA deserts him on the normal 99%. A typcial comment: "The Rabbit had been suffering a bad run. Playing in three no trumps with eleven top tricks, he had only managed eight of them. Then he had botched a grand slam by spurning a winning finesse in favour of a losing endplay." Suppose you were east with AKJT9 AKJ AQ AKQ and the Hog (on your right) wound up in 6D. Would you double? Would you double if Satan was your partner and had arranged the cards? Too bad if you did! You were doubling the Hideous Hog, a very dangerous proposition! (This episode is in "Destiny at Bay".) If you are a little fuzzy about things like squeezes and holdup plays and the like, you won't find a better way to understand them. Try them! You'll love all of them.
